Mechanic

City of Derry Airport • Derry, Northern Ireland • Full-time • Competitive salary

About the Role

Swift Shift Recruitment is exclusively partnered with City of Derry Airport to secure an experienced Mechanic for its in-house engineering team. This represents an outstanding opportunity for a professional seeking a stable, long-term position within a modern, well-equipped workshop, working on a diverse fleet of specialised vehicles and equipment. This is an ideal role for an individual prioritising professional stability and quality of life.

The successful candidate will report to the Engineering Manager, undertaking planned maintenance, comprehensive servicing, accurate fault diagnosis, and effective repairs across a range of mechanical assets. This ensures the continued safety, reliability, and operational readiness of all equipment. This is a hands-on role, ideal for an individual who demonstrates a strong aptitude for problem-solving, a commitment to high-quality workmanship, and the ability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively within a dedicated engineering team.

Key responsibilities will include conducting routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance programmes, efficiently diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, and executing repairs across the varied fleet. The role also encompasses maintaining meticulous maintenance records, assisting with safety checks, supporting equipment reliability, and contributing to the upkeep of a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment. Continued professional development and staying abreast of new vehicle technologies are also integral to this position.
